Chelsea desired a small, intimate dinner with close friends and family. She wanted to focus solely on their love for one another and the pretty little details. Then, things got real. When your bride receives news that the venue she had her heart set on decides to permanently close their doors, as a vendor, you immediately anticipate the bride's stress levels to sky rocket. As the photographer, I start thinking about the tone this has already set for the big day and begin to work extra hard to help make sure that "Plan B" is equally as magical as "Plan A." Our options of eclectic coffee shops that could host a wedding on such short notice were slim in our city. Switching from a venue that offered a lot of the key items (tables, chairs, furniture etc) and most of all character and charm to a venue that required last minute rentals and decor pieces to help create the initial vision was also a challenge. It is also the main reason I am so very grateful to have had the ability to partner with an amazing planner who helped sort out the details. Yes, even intimate weddings can have their hiccups along the way, but don't be afraid to ask for help and always have a "Plan B." In a matter of days, Jelli from Peplum Events confirmed that the new venue was officially booked, a walk through performed, strategies in place for a wedding/reception in the same exact space, we were back on track, happy couple, and their special day approaching in less than 10 days! From these images, you could never tell that 14 days before their wedding, we received the news that their venue was closing, but what I hope you do see from these images is that these two have something so very special that not even the craziest of plans could ever detour their love for one another.
